These are the Top 5 teams in college football, and I’m going to rank each of their chances at winning the National Championship. I’m making this list on October 2.
For number 5, I have Texas. Texas QB Quinn Ewers has put his name on the map in college football. He was one of the best prospects coming out of high school football when he graduated in 2021. He ended up going to Ohio State his freshman year of college before transferring to Texas. In his second year at Texas, he has obviously matched his hype that was around him. Back in September, when his team was ranked 11th, they ended up beating Alabama (ranked number 3 at the time) by a score of 34-24. Texas definitely has a great chance at making the playoffs and winning a National Title if they continue to play like how they’ve been playing all year.
With number 4, I’m taking a risk and picking Oregon. This time just gives me a different feeling than the rest. With having phenomenal talent on their team like Bo Nix at QB, Mar’Keise Irving at running back, and Troy Franklin at receiver, this team can be very special. The reason why I have them ranked at 4th (even though they’re 8th ranked as of today) is because when I saw them play against Deion Sanders and the Colorado team, winning 42-6, I got a good feeling about this squad.
I have Ohio State at number 3. It seems that just about every year, Ohio State’s team has been great– since 2000, they’ve only being unranked once, back in 2011. Ohio State has a great roster, too, with QB Kyle McCord and receivers Julian Fleming and none other than Marvin Harrison, Jr. The reason I have them at 3 is due to Ryan Day, their head coach. It seems like ever since he took the head coaching job, he’s had a great squad but could never win when it never truly mattered, like in the National Championship in the 2020 season and losing in the playoffs to Georgia in the 2022 season. I also have them losing to Michigan again this season, like they have the past two seasons, which brings me to my next pick.
With number 2, I have Michigan. Ever since the preseason, Michigan has had all the hype, and people think they could be the team that can finally beat Georgia. With their star QB J.J. McCarthy having a great year last year, just falling short and losing in the college football playoffs, everyone is expecting him to be back in the playoffs. With Michigan still having to face 6th ranked Penn State and 4th ranked Ohio State, I have them winning both of these games.
And last but not least, and to no one’s surprise, I have Georgia at number 1. Georgia has purely dominated over the past two and a half years, winning two National Championships in a row and is currently still crushing opponents to this day. Do I need to say anything else?
