Brian Lovasik swam to WPIAL gold in the 100 meter freestyle and the 200 yard freestyle at the WPIAL Championships at Pitt on February 27th and 28th and will advance to the PIAA state championships.

Lovasik clocked in at 45.36 seconds for the 100 meter free, while he timed at 1:39.92 in the 200 free, an All-American time. The previous year, Lovasik finished second in the 200 and third in the 100 at WPIALs. Improvement was Lovasik’s goal, but the top seemed to be the only place left for him to reach.

Brian will be the first seed for the 100 free and the second seed for the 200 at states. The PIAA Championships will be held at Bucknell University on March 12th and 13th.
