Two North Hills seniors have been named National Merit Scholarship Finalists.  Nathan Spear and Anthony Sciulli represent only two of 15,000 students nationwide.

Every fall, North Hills sophomores and juniors take the PSAT exam.  This exam opens up scholarships to students all over the nation who score exceptionally well.  The College Board announce the semifinalists in the fall of the students’ senior year of high school.  In order to be named finalists, Spear and Sciulli had to undergo an application process.  This spring, only 8,200 seniors will be named National Merit Scholarship Winners.

Sciulli and Spear represent less than one percent of high school seniors in the United States.  The two are some of highest scorers in the state.  Spear said, “It’s really a great honor to be able to represent North Hills on a National Level.”  Sciulli agreed and said, “The National Merit Program has opened up a lot of good opportunities for college and scholarships.  I’m happy to be a part of it!”
