Here in North Hills the arts are celebrated greatly, we are very lucky to constantly have performances that display the talent in our district. Quickly approaching is the middle school’s annual winter musical! For this year’s performance, the 6th-8th graders of North Hills will be performing The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition this weekend, February 1-3, 2024. The musical is based on the animated show, SpongeBob and features all of the widely beloved characters of Bikini Bottom. In the show the cast discovers a volcano nearing eruption. In order to save their home, SpongeBob and his friends must band together and change their fate. With all hope lost, an unexpected hero saves the day. Featured are original songs by Aerosmith, David Bowie, Cyndi Lauper, and more. Directed by high school Choir Director, Mr. Shaun Cloonan accompanied by retired High School Choral Director Ms. Harriet Valliant (Costume Director) and North Hills alumni, Mr. Joe Kelly (Choreographer) and Mx. Bee Roll (Vocal Director), this show is sure to impress audiences of all ages. The show features over 100 students in the cast and crew as well as 8 high school Drama Club students that volunteered to be student directors. Full of friendship and optimism, the production is the perfect weekend activity to bring some joy to the dullness of the winter season. Come see all of the hard work that our middle school students have been putting in and support the arts! Tickets are available now at nhchoiranddrama.net and are $7 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.
