Birthday During the Coronavirus

Birthday During the Coronavirus

Let’s face it, almost everything in our daily life has changed. Proms, graduations, and other special events have all been canceled. But what about birthdays? No matter what your birthday still goes on. This past Sunday I celebrated my 15th birthday in quarantine. Usually on my birthday I hang out with friends or go out to dinner with my family, but this year it’s all different. I can’t see my friends or my family (other than the ones I live with), so this year took some creative thinking of how I was going to have fun. The first activity of the day was a photo shoot. My dad, my sister, and I went to a park by my house and took pictures for my birthday. The only downside was that it was raining, but the pictures still turned out great. Usually on my birthday I would go to starbucks to get my free birthday drink. This year was no different. Since all the Starbucks are closed around the North Hills area, we needed to drive to Robinson. It was about a 20 minute drive. When we got there, the line was all the way onto the road, but we still decided to wait because we had nothing else to do. The line ended up taking 40 minutes, but it was definitely worth it. When we got home we had my favorite, walking tacos, for dinner. After dinner we did presents and cake and ice cream. Although I missed seeing my friends and family for my birthday, it still was a pretty good birthday. I will definitely remember this birthday forever.
