How To Stay Connected During Quarantine

Samantha Smith, News and Website Team

Although COVID-19 forces us to stay apart, we can still connect with our friends and family, virtually. Here are some fun ways to stay connected.

Zoom and FaceTime: Chances are you have used Zoom or FaceTime at least once in your life. Video chat is a great way to stay connected with your family, friends, and even classmates. FaceTime allows up to 32 people in one call. Zoom allows up to 100 participants. Both apps are free to use however Zoom basic has a 40 minute limit.

Roblox: Yes I know, “Roblox is for little kids.” But that doesn’t mean you still can’t have fun on it. Roblox is a free online game that allows you to play with your friends. You can download the app onto your phone or tablet or, you can play on your computer.

GamePigeon: GamePigeon is an app you may have forgotten about. GamePigeon can be downloaded to your phone. It allows you to play games, all in the iMessage app on your iPhone. You and your friend do need an iPhone to play sadly. If you still want to play virtual games, snapchat games work just as well.

Netflix Party: Netflix Party is an Google Chrome extension that allows you to watch your favorite Netflix shows with your friends. Only one person needs to download the extension to their computer. The extension allows you to chat with the people in your party. The extension is free to download but you do need to have a Netflix account and have a desktop or laptop computer.
