An athlete, a father, a husband, a legend, and the most prominent name in the world this year thus far. Kobe Bean Bryant died January 26th along with his daughter, Gianna (GiGi) Bryant, and seven others in a helicopter crash on their way to Gianna’s basketball tournament. Nobody was expecting this tragedy.

Drafted at only seven-teen years old, he knew he had to show that he’s a real player to the rest of the league, and he did just that. He was a generational talent, an unparalleled leader, and an incredible father. He inspired millions of kids across the globe with his unfailing devotion to winning. He touched so many kids, but not just the athletes. In any school, there was always a kid with a crumpled piece of paper getting ready to shout “Kobe” when he shot it into the garbage can. He taught us all that the only real impediment to our goals was our own mind.
