On Friday, November 9, North Hills Varsity Club returned to the district’s elementary schools for a reading and question session with kindergarten and first grade students.

The Varsity Club members brought their own Thanksgiving themed books to present to the kids. The athletes visited West View Elementary, Ross Elementary, and McIntyre Elementary.

Football player Tyler Brennen stated, “It was nice to give back to the community while also seeing the old teacher I had as a kid.” Principal Mathews from McIntyre said, “It was so nice to see former students return to not only talk to the kids, but to also see their former teachers as well.” Throughout the trip, many kindergarteners were ecstatic to see the athletes and asked many questions about the sports they play. Golfer Jake Stuckert laughed and said, “I’ve never seen so many kids raise their hand when I asked who played golf.” The reactions were great from every school, and according to Christian James, “Seeing all the kids smiling while we read the books made my day.”
