All for the Tide

All for the Tide

The Alabama Crimson Tide pulled away last night with another national championship to add to the trophy room. This is Alabama’s 5th title since 2009. The Georgia Bulldogs were up 20-7 in the 3rd quarter but could not hold on to the lead. Alabama proceeded to try and overcome the lead by putting in quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The freshman quarterback came off the bench to lead Alabama to the win in overtime, even though they missed a field goal with 3 seconds which should have been game. Georgia got the ball first in overtime and were held to a field goal. Alabama was next to try to put it away, on first down Tua was sacked for 16 yards. The next down Tua threw a 41 yard touchdown to DeVonta Smith that gave No. 4 Alabama a 26-23 overtime victory against No. 3 Georgia on Monday night for the College Football Playoff national championship. Last year Alabama lost on the last play of the game and this year they won on the last play of the game. Georgia fans are still hurt as they thought they would be winning a title for the first time since 1980, but that quickly changed for fans all over. Georgia joins their fellow sports team the Atlanta Falcons by failing to put a game away and win when everything is on the line.
