The North Hills Singers are an auditioned group of 29 students that meet twice a week to learn and practice different styles of music. They perform at every choir concert, and at numerous events throughout the school year. The busiest time for the NH Singers is Christmas, as they perform their Christmas songs in various places. Past performance venues include Market Square, Phipps Conservatory, the Barnes & Noble Book Fair, Shannopin Country Club, retirement homes, and local churches. This year, they will continue to sing in many places, including Children’s Hospital.

Sean Nolan, a Tenor I in NH Singers, says “I love performing with this group of people, and my favorite song to sing is ‘Silent Night’. We all stand in a big circle and perform an acapella arrangement of the song. It brings tears to people’s eyes.” Audience members always smile during the performances, and sometimes even sing along to the songs. Darby Vojtko, an Alto II, says that “The Christmas performances warm my heart, and I love how the NH Singers are like a family. All of the members are my brothers and sisters, and Mr. Cloonan is my dad.”

The members of the group include Ryleigh Bruner, Julia Bjurstrom, Alyssa Bogniard, Juliet California, Payton Carroll, Olav Carter, Tyler Dumas, Eric Jazbinsek, Marissa Karpinski, Aidan Kelly, Charlie Knox, Olivia Lyle, Ryan Martin, Hannah McCreary, Megan Medfisch, Grant Mumper, Sean Nolan, Nick Page, Sarah Papinchak, Grant Parkhill, Eleanore Pavelle, Kelly Pearson, Stephen Rodack, Lilly Roll, Casey Santa, Byron Spear, Emerson Spear, Camille Traczek, and Darby Vojtko. Their director is Mr. Shaun Cloonan. Don’t miss their lovely melodies this holiday season.
