Tough task for custodial staff

Jake Bruder, staff writer

Throughout this past July and August, North Hills’ own custodial staff resurfaced the tennis courts due to major cracks and wear of the paint. Through extraordinary efforts, it only took the staff two months to complete the task, which was a month shorter than the original estimated time.

The custodial staff took the initiative to get training on their own, ultimately saving the district from spending roughly anywhere between $60,000 to a quarter of a million dollars to hire a company to take on the job. The athletic department and, especially, the tennis teams are all extremely grateful for the achievement accomplished by Jim Genco, Peter Schwab, Rick Nobbs, John Ninehauser, and others.
