The North Hills High School Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Mr. Len Lavelle,  traveled to Hershey, Pennsylvania on Friday, March 28 to play in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association All-State Convention.

The wind ensemble performed “Landscapes” by Rossano Galante, “Divertimento III. Burlesque IV. Soliloquy VI. March” by Vincent Persichetti, “The Seal Lullaby” by Eric Whitacre, and “III. Incinerate” by John Mackey, which featured guest soloist Phil Webster.

During the PMEA All State-Convention, junior bassist Eric Meister performed with the PMEA All-State Orchestra.  He advanced to the festival after a successful audition at the PMEA Regional Orchestra.  Meister previously played with the PMEA Honors, District, and Regional orchestras before heading to All-State and is currently preparing to audition for the NAFME All-East festival, which will be held next year.
