Pittsburgh to host annual St. Patrick’s Day parade

On Saturday, March 15 starting at 10 a.m., there is expected to be approximately 250,000 people lining the city streets to see all of the bands, floats and marching units during Pittsburgh’s infamous St. Patrick’s Day parade.

As we all know, St. Patrick’s Day is a very popular holiday in Pittsburgh, and the annual parade downtown is always a huge celebration that attracts many Pittsburgh residents, Irish or not.

Between the floats, dancers, bands, baton teams, and animal groups, the Pittsburgh Irish Parade provides fun and entertainment for the entire family. Did you know that Pittsburgh’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade is widely recognized as one of the largest in the world?!

For those of you planning to attend the parade, it will start outside the Greyhound bus station at Liberty Avenue and 11th street at 10 a.m. Market Square will also be hosting its annual “Irish Fair in the Square” street party until 2 p.m.
