Are you a fan of sports and Pokemon cards or any other sports memorabilia? If so then the Pittsburgh Card Show is for you! The Pittsburgh Card Show resides mainly in Washington PA at the Washington Crown Center Mall where sports cards enthusiasts buy, sell and trade sports cards amongst one another. The event also does smaller shows at the Castle Shannon Fire Hall here in Pittsburgh and they also are branching out to Ohio with them doing shows in the Ohio Valley Mall and a place which is just outside of Cuyahoga Falls.
This past show that they just had on the first weekend of May had a whopping 750 dealer tables for dealers from all across the country and the world. That is a record for the Pittsburgh Card Show and it ended up having a great turn out in response. They gave away over $10,000 dollars worth in door prizes which included sports cards, memorabilia, Pokemon cards, and even shopping sprees that are worth upmost of $500 dollars. About 20,000 people showed up that weekend which is absolutely amazing and surreal to see.
The even more surreal thing is that only 5 people are on the staff of these events. This includes my dad Mark Hipsley and his friend Bryce Bergan, who both actually run this whole thing, myself, my mom, and Bryce’s wife. This show also brings in signers from all around the world of sports including this past show where we had Steelers Joey Porter Jr. and Calvin Austin, WWE legends in Kelly Kelly and Dawn Marie, and Pittsburgh Panther Football player Tamon Lyum. This show which has just been around for a little over two years now and has just broken the record for the largest card show in the state of Pennsylvania EVER. We have only done about 9 shows at the Washington location and we are just getting started. Our next show is at a place called Emidio’s just outside of Cuyahoga Falls on June 21.
