Due to Easter Break, there was not a new This Week In Country Music last week. So, I’ve decided to combine the past two weeks into one version of This Week In Country Music. There was a TON that went on during these past couple weeks so let’s just get into it.
The biggest story was UNDOUBTEDLY Morgan Wallen and Post Malone dropping their new song “I’m Ain’t Comin’ Back”. This is off of Morgan’s new album “I’m The Problem” and it is (so far) the best song that has been released from the album. Post really stands out on this track with him giving that raspiness in his voice that he is known for. This is now definitively the first song that can be in the conversation for song of the summer.
Shaboozey, one of country music’s rising stars, dropped his deluxe album this week with 4 brand new songs dropping along with it. The best (new) song on this deluxe was definitely “Amen” featuring Jelly Roll. This song is definitely going to resonate with a lot of people and I believe that this song will definitely be one of the songs that will be in discussion for song of the summer.
Tucker Wetmore, another one of country music’s rising stars, dropped his debut album “What Not To” with people (like myself) loving it. There are a lot of good songs on this album with my favorites being “Brunette” and “3,2,1”. Overall this gives a very Morgan Wallen esque feel to it and is a great album especially as a debut album.
There were a lot of other things that happened these past couple of weeks that couldn’t be further fleshed out. Things like Jordan Davis announcing his next album along with releasing a new song and Bailey Zimmerman and Luke Combs surprising everyone and teasing their new song “Backup Plan”. I love that so much country music is coming out but at the same time it is too much and I would like it to stop for at least a week.
