The Cleveland Cavaliers have secured the number 1 seed in the Eastern Conference. This just adds to their already historic season by them getting this. The last time they were at the 1 seed was the 2015-2016 season where they won the championship that year. The Cavs have shot all expectations out the water by being way better than people thought they ever would be.
The Cleveland Cavaliers sit at an astounding 63-16 record and they are just a couple games shy of tying their record for their most wins in a season in franchise history. They have set so many records this season such as them setting the longest winning streak in team history at 16 wins. With this they also have two of the longest winning streaks in NBA history with the aforementioned 16 wins in the beginning of the season and one that was 15 wins right after All Star break.
This team isn’t one of those teams that got lucky, they have been building something up now for the past couple of years and have now just made a statement to the league. Whether they draft all star level players like Evan Mobley and Darius Garland, trade for superstars and role players like Donavan Mitchell, Jarret Allen, and Deandre Hunter, or sign great key role players who have blossomed into their own this season such as Ty Jerome and Max Strus having career years this year. This team has done everything right this season and hopefully this momentum goes into the playoffs; I will make a bold prediction and say that the Cleveland Cavaliers WILL win the NBA Championship this season and cap off their historic season.
