The Dallas Mavericks have shown how to completely turn a 180 in less than a month. The decisions that this team has made are baffling and have completely changed their future. They are now looked upon as one of the dumbest and most baffling franchises in the NBA.
It all started when they traded their young superstar player in Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers early on in February. Their reasoning behind this was to “win now” when Luka had just carried the team to the NBA finals not even a year ago. They got an aging superstar in this deal in Anthony Davis who has been riddled with injuries for the past couple of seasons.
The Mavs GM Nico Harrison made the most egotistical and stupidest move in NBA history because not even one game into his Mavericks career Anthony Davis goes down with an injury and is expected to be out for the rest of the season. Their luck kept on dwindling because after that their other star player, Kyrie Irving, also got injured and is out for the rest of the season. This leaves the Mavericks with no other meaningful player that could carry them to get in the playoffs.
The move was just generally confusing at the time and in hindsight. The Mavs are the prime example of how a team could easily ruin their future in a single move. This trade could go down as the worst trade in NBA history.
