The Cleveland Cavaliers are the first team in the NBA to reach 50 wins this season. This gets their record at 50-10 for the year, which is the most amount of wins for a team this season. This is the most wins in this period of time for the Cavaliers’ franchise in franchise history. This just puts a cherry on top of the sundae that is the Cavaliers’ season thus far.
Going into this season, the Cavaliers were looked at as one of the best teams in the East but were not included in not that “next level” of teams like the Boston Celtics. They completely surprised everyone this season, starting off winning 15 games in a row. This gives them the 4th largest winning streak to start off a season in NBA history.
The Cavs have a great group of star caliber players such as all star guard Darius Garland who is having the best season of his career this season. Then there are the two big men in Evan Mobley and Jarret Allen who are also having career years. Finally there is our star player Donavan Mitchell leading the pack having a career year this season being the spark that pushes the Cavs to victory. This also includes great role players and a new coach in Kenny Atkinson getting the Cavs to a new level this season.
As a fan of the Cavaliers for as long as I can remember, this just puts a smile on my face. I have seen the lows of this franchise from LeBron leaving us in 2011, our mediocrity after LeBron left us in 2018 and some highs such as winning the 2016 NBA championship. Cavs fans deserve this. Let’s hope that we can potentially win another championship this season.
