2021 Masters Recap

The 2021 Masters, is the first time in the history of the tournament that an Asian born golfer has won. Hideki Matsuyama won the masters shooting one over par on Sunday. His masters speech was comically short, as it was only two sentences long. Hideki does not speak any English and had to have all of his conversations translated. This win marked an end to his winning drought, as this was his first year winning since 2017. Matsyuma will undoubtedly be a star in Japan, and could possibly inspire more children to golf in Japan. The next Olympics will also be held in Japan where Matsuyama hopes to win a gold medal. A fun fact about hideki is that his win is estimated to be about 1 billion dollars in ancillary income. This is more than any golfer ever, due to his high rate of endorsements in Japan.
