The North Hills Varsity Girls’ Soccer Team rolled past Hopewell Monday night, getting them and Coach Rick Kabbert their first official regular season win of the 2020 season. With a final score of 6-1, the NHGS team was working on all cylinders.

The team showed a lot of upsides on Monday night. The young talent of the Indians opened up the game with goals from Miranda Groll, Rebecca Miller, and Abby Krepps, increasing the score to 3-1. The Indians never looked back.  A strong senior class led the way for the Indians including goals by Alexa Smolensky, Olivia Yoder, and Lydia Ohm, adding to the score and making the final 6-1.

North Hills is starting off strong this season with a 2-0 record. When asked how COVID-19 has affected the team, senior Kara Smolensky said,“Covid has affected my team by not allowing us to have a normal start time for summer practices and pushing our season start time back two weeks. This gave us an opportunity to work harder and get to know each other better, but it also has taken away scrimmages and games we could have had. To get over these obstacles, we have been training extra hard to make sure each and every player is mentally and physically ready for the season results we want to have.” NHGS is looking strong in the beginning of the season.
