Try a new recipe!

For those of you who love to cook/bake, this is a super fun and easy way to pass the time! Learn something new in the kitchen, experiment with your recipes, and master new techniques. Websites such as Pinterest and AllRecipes are great places to find new foods to make.

Read a book!

Yes, reading books is lame. Yes, the libraries are closed. But yes, you should read during this time! You can curl up with a hot drink and a book, which will help you take a few hours a day to relax. Plenty of books are sold online, and there are lots of good books to choose from!

Catch up on sleep (but maintain a good sleep schedule:))!

I know all of you are staying up until two in the morning and then sleeping in until noon. It’s great that you’re catching up on sleep, but you should try to do it in a healthy way. Go to bed no later than 11:00 and wake up at the same time every day to maintain a routine. Trust me, you will feel so much more awake and ready to take on the day with a strong sleep schedule.

Write!

There are so many different styles of writing that you can try out throughout this break, such as short stories, novels, essays, poems, etc. Challenge yourself creatively. You will be exercising your brain while passing time!

Do a deep clean of your room!

It is so satisfying to go through your room and get rid of things you don’t need. Pump up the jams and create a plan. Are you going to go through your desk drawers first? Clean out your closet? Drag out the mess of things from under your bed? The possibilities are endless! And who knows, maybe you’ll find that shirt or item you’ve been looking for!

Learn a new skill!

This one sounds basic, but it is truly the perfect time to learn a new skill or hobby. With the Internet at your fingertips, you’ve got a LOT of knowledge at your disposal. There are YouTube videos out there for everything. So get out there and learn how to do something fun and cool!

Watch those TV shows and movies you’ve always wanted to watch!

This one is pretty self-explanatory. Look through your Netflix and Disney+ lists. There may be some shows or movies that you saved but never got around to watching. Make some popcorn, snuggle up with a pet, and start bingeing!

Spend time with your family!

You may be sick of your family at this point, but we need to appreciate what we’ve got. Strengthening bonds with your family is more important than ever right now. Play a game, watch some TV, or just sit around and swap stories! Enjoy the time you have with them now because it won’t last forever.

Do your schoolwork!

No matter how boring it is, it’s important to keep up with your homework. It is a good use of time and guarantees you don’t miss out on your education while at home. Our teachers are here to help us, so contact them with any questions you have!

Keep in touch with your friends!

Even though you can’t physically be with your friends right now, you can still maintain your relationships. Texting, FaceTime, and Zoom are all quick and easy ways to communicate with your friends. Remember to laugh during these times!

Make a (minor) bucket list!

Now that we’re stuck at home, we’re thinking about all of the things we want to do. So, why not write them down and do them when quarantine is over? You’ll thank me later when it gets to be summer and you say, “There’s nothing to do!” Just look at your list, and there you go! Something you wanted to do while you were stuck at home can become a reality.
