NH Singers hitting new notes with “Barbershop Quartet”

A “Barber Shop Quartet” ensemble of men from the NH Singers began singing some fresh new chords this school year, adding to the already diverse musical arrangements here at North Hills.

The group is slightly larger than a quartet, with seven singers, but sings the same catchy a cappella barbershop style. Sophomore Josh Mann remarks, “A few of us showed interest in a barbershop group last year, and it’s very fun to participate in a choral arrangement different from what we typically do.” The beginning of the school year marked the beginning of the new group. The group allots time after their regular NH Singers rehearsals to work on the unique barbershop style. The group is composed of Noah Pepmeyer, Calvin Chmura, Matt Plazek, Jon Perez, Brandon Hackimer, Josh Mann, and Devon Klaus.

The Group’s first performance was at the North Hills Open House on Wednesday, September 10.
