Everyone does it- you get way too caught up in your phone and lose touch with your surroundings. You blindly walk down the street staring at your phone screen, hoping you don’t run into anything. That’s all about to change for some people. Through a safety campaign called “Look Alive”, people dressed up as grim reapers will be walking around the city of Pittsburgh warning people to stay off their phones when walking down busy streets. The “grim reapers” will simply get people’s attention by reminding them in a humorous way to stay off their phones when crossing busy roads. They also have outlines of bodies drawn out in chalk near them to emphasize their point that not looking up from your phone can be deadly. They hope that this campaign will remind people that even if you’re in a hurry, you should always fit time in to be careful.
