Chocolate from Heaven

Sydney Rabinovitz

“Illegally good” is Chocolate Moonshine Company’s tagline. This company originated from a father and son cooking in the basement. It soon had all the neighbors talking about it and they eventually became a huge company. Even though the name entails an alcoholic theme, they are nonalcoholic chocolates. Thankfully, our own Chocolate Moonshine Company recently opened here in the North Hills. It is located in the food court where Pittsburgh Popcorn used to be.

When you usually think of food court vendors, you think of crappy, cheap food and workers trying to make you taste the General Tso’s chicken. Thankfully, Chocolate Moonshine Company provides a tasty treat that is delicious and beautiful. They hand-paint each chocolate fudge bar. Additionally, they are also gluten free.

When you first bite into this chocolate, it’s silky smooth and just floats on your tongue. You can’t help but to eat the entire little bar you have. They have a bunch of flavors ranging from black raspberry to tiramisu, birthday cake, French kiss, peanut butter, caramel, and any other flavor you can think of. You can purchase individual bars for $3 or a box, which holds 10 bars, for $20. Overall, these chocolates are amazing and nothing like more popular chocolates such as Hershey’s or Sarris. My mouth is watering just thinking about them.
