The North Hills Indians Basketball team has climbed its way to the top of section three in Quad A basketball by winning five consecutive section wins.

Headline wins consisted of upsetting the previous undefeated North Allegheny Tigers and beating the section favorite the Pine Richland Rams. The Indians are led by sophomore Nick Smith, averaging 18 points a game, and super senior Kindhal Taylor, averaging 17 points a game. Last Friday, North Hills hosted Seneca Valley in a tough section match; they had lost to Seneca earlier in the season. The results of this game were a 65-58 win over the Raiders as “K.T.” Kindhal Taylor scored 27 points. Since North Allegheny beat Butler on January 27th, it is official that North Hills has clinched a playoff spot. The North Hills Indians have not made the playoffs since 2009.

Nick Smith described how he felt about being in the playoffs, “It feels great to be a part of this and even better to do it with my boys, but we want more than playoffs.” North Hills still has a chance to be first in the section as they head on the road to Shaler this Friday, but no matter what you will see the North Hills Indians in the WPIAL playoffs.
